Ministry Excellence

To achieve excellence, we are establishing ourselves as the person-centered, trusted health partner through our commitment to quality, safety and the care experience, talent development, operational efficiency and systemwide financial health.

Our commitment to excellence produced our Quality Collaboratives. These teams of associates leverage our expertise and intellect to rapidly deploy evidence-based quality strategies that improve both patient care and safety. These enterprises help us identify ways to improve safety and satisfaction, and help us implement and integrate these changes with existing processes.

Our dedication to quality and distinction is not unnoticed. In 2012, 10 of our care sites participated in a Joint Commission survey. After the survey, the Joint Commission named some of our care sites among the 620 top-performing hospitals in the U.S.:

Additionally, Truven Health Analytics, an organization that ranks hospital performance, recognized Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Colo., Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colo. and Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver as part of a “Top 15 Health System” in the country for performance on quality, safety and patient experience. SCL Health also ranked in the “Top Quintile” of U.S. health systems.

Perseverance and proficiency remain critical to achieving perfection. We want to provide the very best care in serving our patients and communities. At the bedside or in the lab, at a desk or cafeteria counter, from Colorado, to Montana and Kansas, every one of our associates, physicians and community partners is vital to ensuring quality care, efficient operations and strong financial stewardship.

Annual Report to the Community

Each year represents new opportunities to improve the health of our communities. Over the past year, SCL Health worked tirelessly to deliver our strategic priorities and prepare for the continuing changes in healthcare while keeping the needs of those we serve at the forefront. It is our responsibility and legacy to respond to need and seek opportunities to improve the health and well-being of those in the communities we support.
