Strategic Initiatives
Our strategic planning perspective consists of three components:
- The development of SCLHS' comprehensive Strategic Plan for Ministry 2010 to 2012+ sets the course for hospital and clinic planning for the next three-year period;
- The development of the respective hospitals' and clinics' three-year Integrated Strategic Plan, based on the Ministry's comprehensive plan; and
- Annual validation of the three-year plans by hospitals and clinics.
The planning process is driven by our Mission and vision and reflective of our Core Values as the entire Health System works out of the context of four strategic goals:
- Culture and Talent To address the needs of a diverse workforce including ethnic, economic and generational differences, we must embrace an ingenious culture. As a learning organization, we must cultivate the talent within our Sytem to transform care delivery.
- Peformance Excellence With increasing scrutiny, and growing consumer and regulatory expectations, our unyielding pursuit of excellence continues. We have an uncompromising focus on achieving superior performance in all aspects of our organization. This includes service, quality, care coordination and stewardship.
- Physician Partnership Success will depend on delivering high-quality, clinical services, built on a disciplined and coordinated infrastructure. We must develop mutually beneficial relationships and achieve competitive advantage with physicians by rewarding innovation and superior quality outcomes.
- Strategic Growth Changes in our industry require a new level of service and portfolio discernment. We will redefine our business model to optimize both operations and resources to improve care in our communities. We will invest strategically to maximize the return on our assets to gain competitive advantage.
